Ford & Stanley Talentwise are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician with previous experience of working within a Field Service role. To complete electrical repairs, and diagnostics to Electric commercial vehicles.

The Opportunity

You will be carrying out Fault Finding and route cause analysis on Electrical and Electronic Systems on a Commercial vehicles, identifying the root cause of any failures using a variety of diagnostic and testing software as well as in depth fault finding down to system and component level and performing and maintenance and corrective repairs.

Location: Remote/Field – Successful candidate will be located in North London due to commuting

Shifts:  Days based role; hours may be liable to change to meet customer demands. Minimum of 41 hours per week.

Salary: £50,000 Per annum +

Key Role and Responsibilities

Technicians are expected to be capable of working on the following types of systems, diagnosing faults, repairing, and replacing major components:

  • Troubleshoot using electrical schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic software, and carry out corrective repairs
  • Carry out diagnostics to Commercial vehicles, Electric drives and bus transmission systems
  • Use of a variety of electrical testing equipment including laptop computers with diagnostic software
  • Support and advise on new product introductions
  • Plan your own day; to ensure diagnostics and repairs are completed
  • Previous experience of completing repairs and maintenance to High voltage vehicle systems
  • Working knowledge of electric drives and control systems

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be electrically biased with experience working with, Commercial vehicles, or public service vehicles.

Essentials:

  • Commercial/HGV/Bus/Rail/Ex-Forces experience
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) minimum qualification 
  • Fault finding and root cause analysis experience
  • Able to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic diagrams
  • User of diagnostic software
  • User of test and measuring equipment such as a Multimeter
  • Full UK Driving Licence
